Boat Trips from Paleokastritsa: Sea Caves, Hidden Coves & More

If there’s one thing you absolutely must do while staying in Paleokastritsa, it’s getting out on the water. The coastline here is spectacular from land — but from the sea, it’s unforgettable. Towering cliffs, water in shades of blue you didn’t know existed, and caves you can sail right into.

The famous sea caves
The classic Paleokastritsa boat trip takes you to the sea caves carved into the cliffs over thousands of years — including the Blue Eye Cave, where the water glows an almost electric blue, and St. Nicholas Cave. Small boats depart regularly from the main beach (Agios Spyridonas), the round trip takes around 30–45 minutes, and skippers usually stop for photos and a swim when the sea allows. Simple, affordable and worth every euro.

Rent your own boat — no license needed
Feeling adventurous? You can rent a small motorboat (up to 30hp, no boat license required) and become the captain of your own day. Cruise at your own pace, drop anchor at Rovinia or Limni beach, find a cove with nobody in it, and swim straight off the boat. Most rentals include a map of the coastline, fuel and safety gear — and we’re happy to arrange one for you with a trusted local provider.

Half-day & full-day cruises
For something bigger, larger boats run trips along the northwest coast — some head towards the dramatic cliffs of Cape Drastis and the Canal d’Amour near Sidari, others south towards secluded swimming spots. Many include stops for swimming and snorkelling; some offer drinks or lunch on board.

Our tips for the perfect trip
Go in the morning when the sea is usually calmest and the light inside the caves is at its best. Bring a mask and snorkel — the visibility is incredible. Wear your swimsuit under your clothes, pack sunscreen and a hat, and don’t forget your camera (or better: a waterproof case for your phone).

How to book
The easiest way? Just ask us. We work with trusted local skippers and rental providers, we know which trip suits which weather, and we’ll arrange everything — often at better rates than booking online. Tell us what kind of day you’re dreaming of, and we’ll make it happen.

Staying at Sea Breeze Studios? The boats are only a few minutes’ walk away — you can be on the water before your morning coffee has gone cold.
